Kerry laid a wreath at the ceremony and promised that America “would stand by the side of Israel every step of the way” in Israeli-Palestinian conflict talks, and that peace is “something that is possible, is good for all, and that it can be achieved,” the Jerusalem Post reported.

Prior to Kerry’s arrival, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said, “For peace to happen between us and our Palestinian neighbors, they must acknowledge the right of the Jewish people to have their own state in its homeland.”
