(Israel Hayom/Exclusive to Three armed men broke into a home in the Paris suburb of Creteil on Monday, raped a 19-year-old woman, and robbed the home, reportedly saying it was "because you are Jewish."

French authorities have arrested two suspects, while a third suspect remains at large.

According to reports in the French media, the assailants, armed with guns and a rifle, broke into a home belonging to the parents of a young man who was there with his girlfriend, forcefully separated the couple and held the man down while raping his partner. They then reportedly stole valuables from the house and used the couple's ATM cards to withdraw cash.

The victims told the police that the assailants demanded their credit cards and PIN numbers, threatening them not to pretend that they did not have money because "we know you are Jewish."

A police official told French media that it was "too early to tell" whether the couple were targeted because they were Jewish.

Simone Rodan-Benzaquen, the director of AJC Paris and AJC Executive Director David Harris will meet this week with Gilles Clavreul, France’s new Inter-ministerial Delegate to Fight against Racism and anti-Semitism.

“Enough is enough!” Rodan-Benzaq said in a statement on the attack. A survey on anti-Semitism in France by the Foundation for Political Innovation (Fondapol) shows that 25 percent of the French population believes Jews have "too much power" in economics and finance.

“While government officials at the highest levels have been mobilizing to fight anti-Semitism, a new action plan is urgently needed to confront this growing menace, which threatens not only Jews, but French society at large. The fight against anti-Semitism is a fight for France's values,"  Rodan-Benzaquen said.
